January 2012

At last! Finally found the time to catch our breath and update the blog! The last three months have been nothing less than manic. We literally had two weeks to stock the shop with products and then cope with the mad Christmas rush. And mad it was!!! The shop kept emptying and the faster we filled the shelves, the more folks came in to be Curiously Wicked. Now, in January, we have found the time to do our first cake display and EVERYTHING is made completely out of chocolate - EVEN THE DRESS!!!! Pictures coming soon.

The coming few weeks will see many more changes too. Our beautiful new Chocolate Rooms will begin taking shape and the coming months will see Curiously Wicked move briefly to number 17 (next door) whilst the complete overhaul on our shop takes place.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF OUR WONDERFUL CUSTOMERS AND THEIR FAMILIES - WE CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE WHAT WE HAVE IN STORE FOR YOU!

October 2011

This month is probably THE most significant for us to date...WE HAVE ACQUIRED OUR FIRST SHOP!

In the Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth, it's in the most wonderful position imaginable and we received the keys for it on 24th. Opening day...5TH NOVEMEBER!!!

So, in two weeks, we need to convert 140kg chocolate into products, paint and decorate the shop, move furniture in, fit light fittings, create the window display and bake a good few oven-fulls of goodies for our wonderful customers.

Oooooooh, IT'S A GOOD JOB THAT WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHAT WE DO!!!

September 2011

We were very flattered when Fenwick of Newcastle approached us to sell our products in their store. To our amusement, Audrey told us that whenever she thinks of Curiously Wicked, she thinks of 'The Uglies' and as she was looking at us when she said it, we burst out laughing and said 'THANKS AUDREY!!!' However, we were quickly told that she was in fact referring to our now famous best sellers.

We launched our products there on the first Saturday of the month and were looked after wonderfully by all the staff who made us extremely welcome.

Ofcourse, we couldn't leave without buying a selection of their wonderful deli products; all of which were enjoyed for tea.

LOVELY!!!

August 2011

Welcome to our new image and our new website! We've gone for a slightly retro theme that aims to reflect the golden age of the sumptous 1920's-1930's. It was a time where hemlines rose and as a result, eyebrows were raised; where music played and those feet just couldn't help tappin' to the new upbeat of the Charleston. We make our products in the old fashioned way and what better way to reflect what we do, than using an iconic era as inspiration. EH, WHAT..!?

As most of our customers will know, we spend all our time making chocolate leaving very little time for our site. Thus, Krystyna worked really hard to design both a new image and a site that offered a much more manageable system that we can, well, MANAGE! Hope you like it as much as we do!

July 2011

Our team have surpassed themselves! Our latest commission was for a solicitors office in Wallsend who asked for a chocolate house to help them celebrate their great work together. Not only did they set off to build them a house, they BUILT A PRETTY MUCH EXACT SWEETIE VERSION OF THEIR OFFICE!

June 2011

We're busy, busy busy developing our new techniques of chocolate sculpting! Currently we're working on a 'retro' cake with a 30's sea-side theme. Look out for us at Tynemouth in the coming weeks as we're going to bring it with us to show you.

CURIOUSLY WICKED ARE WINNERS!

The Academy of Chocolate is perhaps the most prestigeous organisation in our field and once a year they hold their awards in order to judge and give recognition to the very best of the best in the world. As this is only our first year of trading, Curiously Wicked only entered into one category; 'best filled chocolate - fruit'

We are over the moon to announce that 'The Original Cinn',  has won The Academy of Chocolate Bronze Award 2011. This now puts us shoulder to shoulder with the best chocolatiers in London, Paris, Brussels, Belgium and beyond.

LOTS OF PRESS TO FOLLOW!

March 2011

We are absolutely delighted to say that things are really taking off now! Our Prevarications are now available in in a growing number of shops and the two ranges we launched in February look set to follow!

Our Chocolate Apothecary range is designed to enhance the mood; whether you want to relax and unwind, or simply revive your senses. Natural oils carefully blended with the finest chocolate are fashioned into a whisp of a medallion that will melt on your tongue to release the goodness and flavours within.

Two weeks ago, we also introduced our new Continental Range inspired by a visit to a European food market. We loved the idea of luxurious segments of fine chocolate blended with incredibly decadent ingredients as well as the fun of breaking little tiny pieces off just when you want...irresistible !

Both ranges, together with all of our other products, are already available from our stall and will soon also be available online too!

Keep checking in regularly to make sure you don't miss out!

February 2011

HELEN MCARDLE CARE has asked us to provide a range of high quality chocolates for their homes on a regular basis. We are extremely proud to be associatedwith them and having seen how wonderfully their homes operate, we were not surprised to learn just how many awards Helen McArdle Care has won. We will do our utmost to ensure that we provide the same high level of service as they do and look forward to many fun times and opportunities to work with the residents, too.
